A motorist commits the offence of dangerous driving if the standard of their driving on a road or in a public place falls far below that expected of a “competent and careful driver”.
Dangerous Driving is a serious offence that attracts a sentence of imprisonment for up to 2 years and disqualification for a minimum of 12 months. If convicted you will also be ordered to sit an extended test. Most cases of dangerous driving will proceed to the Crown Court.
